JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE TO GO BACK INTO THE WATER....

Remember back when the BP oil spill into the Gulf of Mexico was splashed all over the daily headlines?

There was an occasional blurb in the news about certain bacteria present in saltwater that actually ingested the oil. 

Practically speaking, this news bite sounded encouraging; like a positive note as the oil would eventually be engulfed (no pun intended) and eventually removed by the bacteria. 

It gave hope that our Gulf might once again be clean and pristine.

However, the one downside that the media mentioned, in reference to the oil-eating bacteria, was that their presence depleted oxygen in the water. 

These type of bacteria are classified as aerobic, which essentially means that they require oxygen to grow and survive. 

Therefore, the result of the aerobic activity of these oil-ingesting bacteria is that the oxygen depleted water is killing marine life in the oil contaminated deep water. 

As a result, these lowered oxygen levels are decreasing the food supply in the deep (because of die off ). Consequently, this is sending sharks into the more shallow waters along the coastlines, in search of prey.

Note, in the following statement regarding the microbes (bacteria) that these "oil-eating bacteria are flocking to the spill in droves".

"But a study published today, which takes a look at the microbes themselves, finds that oil-eating bacteria are flocking to the spill in droves, though it's not clear how quickly they're digesting it."

This, of course. means more oxygen consumption by the "droves" of oil-eating bacteria resulting in more oxygen depletion. 

In turn, this translates into even more marine life/fish kills and thus driving even more of the larger predators (sharks) into more shallow water. 
This then leads to the endangerment of humans frolicking in the waters at the seashores of America's beaches.

As bad as this chain of events sounds, it gets worse, way worse. 

The millions upon millions of gallons of oil that these "droves" of microbes are feasting upon were purposefully sunk to the depths by the millions of gallons of toxic oil dispersant (Corexit).  

Therefore, to the media and accordingly,to the general population, the whole oil spill dilemma is "out of sight, out of mind".

In fact, the beaches have been cleaned and are all reopened. On the literal "surface", the water of the Gulf visibly appears back to normal. 

In fact, the FDA has even sanctioned fishing and states that the Gulf seafood is now completely safe for human consumption:

It's as if our government has declared the Gulf oil crisis resolved and completely over; that everything is back to business as usual and that life on our Gulf shorelines is all back to normal.

However, let us once again explore some details about the little microorganisms that are "helping us" by eating all that excess oil: 
  
"Will Oil-Eating Bacteria Plague the Gulf?"

 "As though the Gulf Coast states don't have enough to worry about with crude oil spewing into the water at an estimated rate of 5,000 barrels a day, they soon may also have to worry about bacterial plumes.

A microbe called Vibrio parahaemolyticus, common in warm coastal waters like the Gulf, thrives off of crude oil.  "You can feed it exclusively oil," Jay Grimes, a marine microbiologist at the University of Southern Mississippi, said of the Vibrio species."

"When ingested by humans, usually from eating raw oysters, Vibrio and related organisms can cause cramps, nausea, and can sometimes be fatal.  More than 4,500 people are infected with the bacteria each year.

Though harmful to humans, these single-cell organisms aid in keeping the ocean healthy by eating naturally seeping oil. Without their presence, the world's oceans would be covered in a thick film of oil.

The organisms surge in response to hydrocarbons, molecules made up of bonded hydrogen and carbon, which are naturally found in oil."

As stated, these organisms "surge" in the presence of the compounds found in oil as they thrive on it. 

There is no telling the ratio of the "surge" that has now occurred with the spillage of untold millions of gallons of crude oil into the Gulf on which for these bacteria to feed and proliferate.

God created a delicate balance in nature for these microbes to maintain the oceans by eating naturally seeping oil. 

The unnatural introduction of millions and millions of gallons of oil into one general region has greatly upset that sensitive balance.
 
This past unusually hot summer with warmer than normal ocean temperatures would be conducive to bacterial growth alone.

Add the increased availability of nutrients (oil) and these organisms would rapidly thrive and flourish. 

As such, the concentration of these pathogenic (disease causing) organisms could skyrocket in the waters of the Gulf.

As bad as this may all sound, there is one more slight detail that was never even alluded to in all the brevity of sound bites regarding the oil-eating bacteria. 

A species of the Vibrio bacteria that eats oil also has a propensity for human flesh; it is related to the strain of the potentially fatal, flesh-eating bacteria.

In fact, there have been several recent deaths of coastal residents by this flesh-eating bacteria; directly related to contaminated Gulf water or seafood. 

Some of the victims were just innocently wading at the water's edge and contracted the deadly bacteria from a perfectly clean and harmless appearing surf.

Previously, there was a blog entry covering the possibility of this current year's hurricane season causing a deluge of oil rain to rain down on coastal as well as inland areas:

There has been little talk or recognition about the aberrant behavior of this year's hurricane activity. 

This has been an anomalous year for hurricanes as not one has entered into the Gulf, across the oil spill area, as is usually the norm.

It is quite bizarre how all of this season's hurricanes have either been diverted along our eastern coastline or towards Central America; with none affecting the southern coastal states as they usually trek towards.

It could be that the vast oil spill in the Gulf is affecting/stagnating the currents that usually pull storm systems into the Gulf. 

One hurricane specialist noted that it was as if there was a "physical force" preventing the hurricanes from entering the Gulf.

Perhaps there is an actual physical force protecting the residents of the coastlines, as well as the interior of America. 

The actual Hand of God may have been staying the hurricanes from traveling over and churning up the oil spill contaminated waters. 
In addition, the creator God may be preventing the spread of the deadly disease caused by the virulent bacteria thriving off the massive oil spill in the Gulf. 

He may purposefully be precluding the potential of a Gulf based hurricane raining down pathogenic, flesh-eating, bacteria-laced rain on an unsuspecting populace.

Whatever is happening, we can see that things are not normal; contrary to what is being projected. We are in the last days and drawing nearer, by the day, to the coming Tribulation period. 

May we continue to watch and pray that we may be accounted worthy the escape the wrath to come and to stand before the Son of Man!

UNPRECEDENTED GREAT WHITE SHARK SIGHTINGS OFF OF AMERICA'S BEACHES

Even though great white sharks have been spotted in the past on our northeastern coastline and the region is considered one of their habitats, there has never been such an  apparent influx of these giant predators into these waters resulting in such increased amounts of sightings:   


"Nearly a dozen great whites were been spotted off the shore of Cape Cod in the last week alone. Swimming has been banned indefinitely on some beaches.  

Now the hunt is on for the monstrous sharks.   

Fact is, sharks of all kinds have made their way to northeast beaches this summer, leading to warnings, beach evacuations and scares for swimmers."

The fact that "sharks of all kinds have made their way to northeast beaches this summer" to the point that there have been beach evacuations is in itself both concerning and perplexing.   

Meanwhile, the conundrum has expanded all the way across our nation, onto America's opposite coastline, where great whites have been spotted "closer to the shore than they have in the past":   


"While it is not unusual for sharks to migrate to the coast of San Diego this time of year, they are coming closer to the shore than they have in the past. According to Fox News the Great Whites have been sighted about 50 yards off shore."

"This is becoming the summer of the shark off Southern California, where sightings or alleged sightings of great whites seem to be made every few days."  

"The latest known sighting occurred Sunday off La Jolla Shores, a popular San Diego County surf spot.   

Lifeguards estimated the shark -- based on the size of its shoreward-bound dorsal fin -- to measure 15-20 feet and issued warnings to surfers and swimmers from La Jolla Cove to Scripps Pier".  

There is no scientific theory yet revealed regarding this recent abnormal behavior of these mammoth, deadly sea creatures to where "they are coming closer to the shore than they have in the past."   

Notable is that due to the also unusually high sightings of great whites, it is now being labeled "the summer of the shark" off Southern California:   


"This is becoming the summer of the shark off Southern California, where sightings or alleged sightings of great whites seem to be made every few days.

Investigation into this mysterious and disturbing event would have to include knowledge of the waters to which great whites are normally indigenous to: 

HABITAT Great white sharks are found near shore along most of the temperate (not very hot and not very cold) coastlines around the world. 

DISTRIBUTION Great white sharks have been observed along the coastlines of California to Alaska, the east coast of the USA and MOST OF THE GULF COAST, Hawaii, most of South America, South Africa, Australia (except the north coast), New Zealand, the Mediterranean Sea, West Africa to Scandinavia, Japan, and the eastern coastline of China and southern Russia.

Puzzling is the fact that there have been no reported sightings of great whites in the Gulf of Mexico region even though their habitat also includes "most of the Gulf coast".   

All the while, there have been excessive sighting of these sharks along an extended area of the southern shore of California as well as an extensive area of the Northeastern coastal states area.  

In addition to the unprecedented great white sightings along the northeastern coastline, as previously mentioned, "sharks of ALL KINDS have made their way to northeast beaches this summer".  

As such, it may be concluded that this could also be considered the "summer of the shark" along the northeastern shoreline of America as well as along our opposite, southwestern coastline.

Theoretically, it is very plausible that the unimaginable amount of dead zones created by the massive Gulf oil spill has caused the sharks to flee the toxic waters of the Gulf seeking uncontaminated areas (such as our southwestern and eastern coastlines).  

In order for these eating machines to locate food this would be a necessity as much of the food chain that they are dependent on, no longer exists in the Gulf anymore.

Perhaps God has mercifully tried to divert the attention of Americans who flock to the nation's beaches every summer by making our treasured beach destinations, dangerous and undesirable.   

This has been easily accomplished by either the massive quantities of crude oil and toxic dispersants and now sharks. Either way, it is no longer completely safe to frolic in any of the waters of our coastlines.

God may thus be allowing this worldly distraction to be removed in these last days to enable mankind to focus on Him, instead of the pursuit of earthly pleasure. 

The creator of the universe may well be using it also as a signal to show us just how abnormal our world is becoming as we steadily draw closer to the end of time.  

Either way, the intentions would be the same:  

To draw humans away from focusing on the material and temporal, in order to foment the realignment of our focus towards the Lord, the giver of life and towards eternity, which is everlasting

THE GULF OIL SPILL COULD CAUSE WORLDWIDE DEVASTATION OF THE OCEANS!

The Gulf Oil Spill may be the straw that breaks the economic back of not only the Southeastern states bordering the Gulf of Mexico but the entire country as well. From economic to enviornmental and even the endangerment of some species of marine life, the consequences may be irreversible.

Below are listed various repercussions that may result from the Gulf oil spill if they can't stop it, which to date, all attempts to do so have been successful.

"Unlike the Alaska spill, which coated a rock-strewn bay, BP's oil will cling to a sponge-like coast, entering the pores of mangrove forests and sea-grass beds and the breeding grounds for crabs, shrimp and oysters.


Already some of the richest fishing grounds of the gulf are off-limits, idling thousands of commercial fishermen. Some restaurants in New Orleans and elsewhere are either out of homegrown oysters or are down to less than a week's supply.


Further, whatever happens in the gulf could spread.

Scientists say they can't predict more than a few days in advance where the oil is heading. If it slips into the powerful Loop Current, it could spread toward South Florida, get picked up by the Gulf Stream and head up the East Coast before it turns at Cape Hatteras, N.C., toward the open sea.

That could prove disastrous for Florida's enormous tourism industry, with 80 million visitors drawn yearly to its pristine beaches.

A growing slick could cut into a commercial fishing industry that produced about 1.27 billion pounds of fish and shellfish in 2008 with a dockside value of more than $659 million, according to the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council.


Beyond that, more than 3.2 million people fish for fun in the gulf each year.

Damage to the wetlands could cost society billions of dollars in lost natural filtration of water and protection of property from storm surges. The coastal areas also are important habitat for birds, shrimp and many other forms of life.


What we learned was never, ever let oil get into a mangrove coast. You’ll never get it out. It’s like a sponge you rub on a greasy bacon pan. You need very hot water and a lot of soap, and you still might just give up and throw away the sponge.”


The gulf’s coastal sea-grass beds and mangroves are full of burrowing animals that make millions of holes. Oil works its way out of the holes eventually and then storms flush it back into the water, creating what amounts to a new spill.

It’s going to cover up the Gulf Coast and the wind is eventually going to keep it going south and it’s going to get into the Loop Current, and the Loop Current comes south and comes through the Florida Keys, where 85 percent of the live coral reefs in the country are,” Nelson said.


“We’re talking about massive economic loss to our tourism, our beaches, our fisheries, and very possibly the disruption of our country’s military testing and training in the eastern gulf,” he said."

When storms blow up _ hurricane season begins June 1 _ the oil will be driven into the marshes and “then the problem will build up more and more, because you just can’t stop it,” McKinney said'.

Notable is the fact that this disaster has an even projected worse case scenario wherein the continous gush of oil could spread from the Gulf of Mexico all the way to America's eastern seaboard if it meets with the Gulf Loop Current that would disperse the slick even further:

"Many ocean scientists are now raising concerns that a powerful current could spread the still-bubbling slick from the Florida Keys all the way to Cape Hatteras off North Carolina.


These oceanographers are carefully watching the Gulf Loop Current, a clockwise swirl of warm water that sets up in the Gulf of Mexico each spring and summer. If the spill meets the loop -- the disaster becomes a runaway.

"It could make it from Louisiana all the way to Miami in a week, maybe less." said Eric Chassignet, director of the Center for Ocean Atmospheric Prediction Studies at Florida State University. "It is pretty fast."

The very worst-case scenario, if the oil leak continued for a very long period of time, the oil could conceivably be carried from the Gulf Stream into world-wide ocean currents. Therefore, this could become a worldwide oceanic disaster.

In many photographs of the oil spill, the waters have been tiger-striped with a reddish-orange rust-colored hue, reminiscent of dried blood. This is similar coloration to what John of Patmos may have seen when he authored the book of Revelation as he was describing his vision of the sea turning to blood and every living thing in the sea dying:
